Kabazaiku is a uniquely Japanese art form that used the national tree, Sakura, and turns its bark into beautiful, long lasting products. There are about five companies remaining who still master the traditional, complex art form that was passed down from generation to generation. One of these companies is TOMIOKA SHOTEN.

These beautifully Hinoki cypress trays are not just a pleasure to look at, but also very cleverly designed, with a whole in the side for easy grip. The small cherry bark patterns are carefully crafted by an experienced craftsman who has to make well-balanced patterns on a very small surface.

The contrast of the cherry bark and hinoki makes for a beautiful design that will look great while you're using it, or just as a decoration item in your room. As the tray is coated, it can be washed normally.
