BENRIDO Limited Edition Collotype Portfolio Tsunaki Kuwashima, Midsummer Death
Description
for details of the exhibition Amami and Tokunoshima in Okinawa Prefecture have been unique islands where bullfighting and people's lifestyles have been closely intertwined since the time when they were under the rule of the Satsuma Domain. This portfolio depicts the heyday of the bullfighting "Fukuda Kiwado No. 1", which was said to be the strongest bullfight in Tokunoshima in history, and what it looked like after retirement. You can see how strong he had a strong body and glossy dark coat in his heyday, and on the contrary, how thin and rough his hair was after retirement, in the smooth shade expression of the collotype. It is so delicate that you can see each very fine hair, and it is faithfully printed so as not to spoil the atmosphere of the original photograph, and you can carefully observe how each part of the body has changed in its heyday and after retirement with a deep expression unique to collotype.
The title was designed by Michael Horsham of the art design group TOMATO, and Michael Horsham also contributed text.
