These decorative folding screens are beautifully crafted with unmatched colors and depth. A true, traditional art work for your house or office, and a perfect special gift or souvenir. 


The pine forests hidden between the haze are depicted with crude and bold brushwork. It is a masterpiece of Hasegawa and others, and it is the best masterpiece of early modern ink painting. Isoeki's "Matsubayashi Picture Folding Screen," which he identified as a "silent painting," invites the viewer to the state of Zen. Therefore, this work is very popular both in Japan as overseas. 

The Benrido Atelier is a COLLOTYPE workshop based in Kyoto, Japan and has mastered the art style since 1887. Their beautiful designs make for amazing Japanese gifts, decorations and souvenirs. The printing requires the best materials, with quality ink and handmade Japanese washi paper, and experienced craftsmen are the only ones able to properly design the prints - Each individual step requires experience and eye for detail to create beautiful tones and to properly balance the pigment.

 

Born in Tenbun 8~Keicho 15 (1539~1610) in Noto Nanao (Ishikawa Prefecture). The founder of the Hasegawa school. At first, he mainly produced Buddhist paintings, but later he went to Kyoto and devoted himself to the snow boat. He studied Song Yuan painting and the Maki style, and opened his own painting boundaries with a focus on ink painting. His representative works are "National Treasure Matsubayashi Diagram Folding Screen", "Dead Tree Monkey Monkey Drawing", and "Chizu-in Golden Azusa Painting".
