Established in 2008 in Tokyo, WASARA (wa = Japanese, sara= dish) combined Japanese aesthetic with the spirit of traditional Japanese craftsmanship to create an innovative solution to impact the food and drink industry. The tableware is not only biodegradable, but also completely free of trees! The products are made from reed pulp, renewable bamboo shoots and bagasse sugar cane ??? an agricultural waste product, otherwise burned. WASARA donates part of their sales profits to Eco Future Found, an NGO fighting for worldwide environmental education.
