This is a very special Umeshu plum wine. It is made of very ripe ume plums and has aged for nine years. It has a very rich flavor of ume and a very fruity sweetness. Kyunen Umeshu is an ideal drink on ice, but also nice on Champagne. It also is wonderful as topping on vanilla ice or as part of a dressing or sauce. Although Kyunen Umeshu tastes very fruity and is easy to drink, it has 20% alcohol. This high percentage of alcohol is necessary to protect the flavor and ume flesh during the 9 years maturation period.

Kyunen Koshu Nigori Umeshu is produced by the Kikusui Brewery in Kochi prefecture. The Kikusui Brewery produces a large range of different alcohols including a few very creative Umeshu compositions such as Banana Umeshu, Sparkling Umeshu and others.
