The Benrido Atelier is a COLLOTYPE workshop based in Kyoto, Japan and has mastered the art style since 1887. Their beautiful designs make for amazing Japanese gifts, decorations and souvenirs. The printing requires the best materials, with quality ink and handmade Japanese washi paper, and experienced craftsmen are the only ones able to properly design the prints - Each individual step requires experience and eye for detail to create beautiful tones and to properly balance the pigment.

The Four Cities Map consists of four cities (Lisbon, Seville, Rome, and Constantinople (Istanbul) from the left, and eight folding screens with noble equestrian maps of men and women of noble ranks and royal equestrian maps at the top. One ship is an eight-curved folding screen of the world map that shows high decorativeness. It is assumed that it was painted in the early 17th century by a painter who mastered the techniques of Western painting in the Jesuit seminary that developed missionary work in Japan. It is known that it was acquired by antiquities dealer Tomita Kumasaku during the Spanish Revolution of 1931 and returned to Japan, but its history before that is not clear. The original city map and the world map are thought to be based on the large wall-mounted world map revised by Caelius in 1609, and the Roman map is said to be based on the city map in the Gospel of Ignatius Loyola (1610).
