Non Dripping Banko Ware Teapot for Green Sencha Tea
Non Dripping Banko Ware Teapot for Green Sencha Tea
Description
More than a simple piece of ceramic, this tea pot is a wonderful living object that becomes increasingly beautiful with the passage of time. Thus, due to the oil contained in the tea, the pot will become more shiny over the years; moreover, the special glaze on the inside of the pot has very small cracks like fine veins, which gradually become more visible and create an interesting pattern that adds to the beauty of the pot.
All the pots are made by hand, one by one, and then carefully baked until they acquire the warm brownish color that distinguishes them from other earthenware. The rim at the top has a special design that enhances the flavor of the tea: the part of the rim near the spout has more than one hundred small holes, all carefully made by hand. The holes hold back even the smallest leaves in the pot while allowing for the tea to be poured easily. The lid of the pot has very fine indentations on the side, which have the double effect of letting air in when pouring, thus ensuring a constant flow of tea, and of preventing water drops from sticking on the inside. The lid has a nice dome-like shape with beautiful curves that make it a unique object in itself.
The traditional Japanese design of the pot ??? round and short ??? guarantees that the leaves have enough room to open in the steaming hot water and to release all their precious aroma. Thus, the wonderful flavor of the tea is fully preserved.
