The base of these setta are indigo colored - indigo is also called "Japan Blue" and is a symbolic color of Japan.
The polka dot design is created with Bushu Shōai dyeing, which is said to have originated in the northern part of Saitama; a major cotton production area since the Edo period. The thong material is traditionally spun in collaboration with Kojima Textile Industry Co., Ltd., which manufactured Bushu Shōai Dyeing, continues to protect the regional collective trademark of "Bushu Shōai Dyeing".

< RIKYU collection: Re: Rest >
"Rikyu" is named after Re, Reflexology, Revolution, and Re.
The setta have built-in cushions in three places to provide a relaxing effect while wearing it. With a focus on the traditional colors and patterns of Japan and domestic materials, Re:Kyuu is sent out into the world.

Sizes
● Traditionally, setta are worn with your heel slightly sticking out (left)
● Now-a-days people often choose to wearn them as Western footwear (right).
● A size smaller than your actual foot size is recommended for the traditional style.
● Bigger sizes should be avoided when you are not used to wearing setta - your toes are supporting the weight of the sole and a larger setta would mean more burden on your toes, mak
ing it harder to walk. If you do choose a larger model, avoid leather and go for a light-weight material.

IMPORTANT: The setta are handmade and use delicate materials. The bottom of setta with leather may show "uneven color, stains", "rubbing marks and scratches", "small irregularities", etc. due to rubbing in the manufacturing process, but please note that it is not defective. For cotton thongs, the inner cotton may show.
Avoid your setta getting soaked or walking in heavy rain.

Traditional Comfort with Contemporary Designs
YAMATO KOBO is a maker of Japanese Setta footwear, since 1957. They are based in Nara city - the center of Setta production in Japan. Their sandals are used by many high class Japanese hotels and inns. Different from traditional setta, the YAMATO setta differentiate between the right and left foot by placing the thong at the most appropriate place, which makes them more comfortable to wear. YAMATO still uses traditional production methods, but have improved their designs with cushions and shapes for maximum comfort, as well as create modern designs using tatami, synthetic leather, denim and hemp.
