Wajima Lacquer Cup YOROKOPPU Happy Cup
Wajima Lacquer Cup YOROKOPPU Happy Cup
Description
Cup to enjoy the taste and aroma"
The idea of “Yorokoppu (Happy Cup)” was born from an exchange between the craftsman and a buyer at the liquor section of a department store. When requested the perfect cup to enjoy the moist texture of lacquerware and the scent of the drink, the craftsman came up with this design.
A shape without the stem (leg part) of a wine glass.
Unlike glass or porcelain, it is not something that can be made by putting it in a “mold” or blowing, so the round shape is very difficult to create with "Honkataji" technique.
Eacj cup is very carefully crafted and finishes to create the smooth texture, plump texture unique to lacquer, and the expression of depth are the result of the Honkataji technique.
The natural wood is covered with cloth, then a base coat using "Wajima Jinoko" is applied, followed by an intermediate coat and a top coat. The white lacquer on the inside gradually becomes brighter as you use it, and the luster increases as you use it.
The cup is perfect not only for alcoholic beverages, but also coffee, black tea, Japanese tea, water, juice...
It will create a feeling of HAPPINESS every day
