YUZUYA, based in Hagi, Yamaguchi prefecture, was established in 1978 as a one-man business and grew to be corporation from 1981 onwards. Their mission is ???From Hagi???s skies, from Hagi???s soils??? to indicate they work with all-natural, local ingredients and farming techniques, without adding chemical seasonings and food additives. The raw materials are Japanese citrus fruits, like yuzu, sudachi and daidai, that are grown locally, including at their own ???YUZUYA FARM??? with over 5,000 yuzu trees. YUZUYA is dedicated to putting genuine flavor and the health of both employees and customers first.

The fruits are pickled by hand and processed one by one and either juiced, sliced or turned into pastes and condiments. By carefully inspecting and handling them by hand, they ensure a delightful, natural citrus flavor, without overpowering bitterness and artificial flavorings. They take excellent care on quality control and food safety, and are certified Halal. They furthermore offer workshops at their factory for customers to experience their unique production process.

Despite the amount of time and effort required, YUZUYA keeps their volumes low in order to offer the best quality possible, through manual labor by their small number of dedicated and knowledgeable staff.

From ancient times, orange (daidai) has been added to the center of Japanese New Year's Kagami Mochi and Shimenawa.

This is said to have been responsible for the luck of "prospering for generations."

In addition, because it is a blue-orange fruit, it does not easily fall off the tree even when the fruit is ripe.

Depending on the season, the color may change as "blue-orange-> yellow-orange-> blue-orange".

It is said to mean that it will continue for generations and prosper for generations.

Recently, the medicinal effect is also receiving a lot of attention.
