The founder of the ASAMIDORI bee farm - SUGIMOTO Kenjiro - first worked for Japan's first beecompany. He later dedicated himself to beekeeping in different locations throughout Japan, and also was involved in research on beekeeping. He established the ASAMIDORI bee farm in 1919.

In the 70's the company expanded to selling through close-by department stores (Above photo shows the founder at TAKASHIMYA Yokohama).

In 2018 a new chapter started for ASAMIDORI Farm when Mariko SUGIMOTO took over responsibility for the company as the fourth generation.

She started modernizing the company by strengthening all brand elements. In 2022, she refurbished parts of the 100 year old building and opening ASAMIDORI's first own retail store including a cafe where guests can enjoy drinks and dishes with honey.
