The UKI HASHI are an award-winning design that allow you to put your chopsticks down without using a chopstick rest. The tips of the chopsticks are elevated, so that they will not touch the table when put down. This is a great solution not only at home, but it also is much more hygiene friendly when you use them eating out!

  • Easily used, even with a raised-tip form:
To pinch, grip, push, scoop, tear, place, peel, break, wrap, cut, carry, and mix: These simple and traditional chopsticks fulfill their aforementioned twelve functions with no added difficulty to the user. Such is their design, which was formulated to provide the ultimate form with only the slightest adjustments.

  • Chopsticks for good manners
Laying down chopsticks on a plate or bowl signals that you're done with the meal, and is seen as rude if you're not in fact finished. By setting down these chopsticks with the circular indentation face up, you can easily observe Japanese chopstick etiquette without worrying about chopstick placement.

  • A more elegant feel in a range of colors
The superb quality of the chopsticks with a subtle matte appearance enhanced by a hint of gloss has been achieved through a special molding process. The 2020 color line up is inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics.

The ends of the chopsticks point upward. There is no need to use a rest. Holding in the correct position will lead to good manners.

Designed by Mikiya Kobayashi:

When using chopsticks, you must pay heed to proper manners and etiquette. However, it is difficult to keep all of the rules in mind while enjoying your meal. Perhaps using UKI HASHI will help you rediscover the exquisite culture of Japan.
