Description
Baiko Hyakunen Umeshu is a very sweet Japanese plum wine with very little acid. It also includes a shot of brandy that aged in cherry wood barrels for 5 years as well as some honey. This makes is a very sweet and heavy umeshu with a very long lasting and fruity aftertaste.
Hyakunen Umeshu literally means "a hundred years plum wine". The name refers to the year this umeshu was launched which also was an anniversary of death of a famous samurai warlord.
Baiko Hyakunen Umeshu is best enjoyed on ice. It makes a nice cocktail with Champagne and its rich and sweet flavor makes it an ideal dessert wine with dark chocolate.
