WAJIN

The WAJIN t-shirts are made using screen printing with 100% water-based ink to print their hand-painted designs. Many businesses prefer oil-based ink as they are easier to work with for mass production. Water-based ink dries so quickly that the screens need to be wiped clean between each print so that the holes don't clog. This makes the process more tedious, but the result is cleaner-looking and much softer to the touch. In addition, water-based inks contain fewer chemicals and are better for the environment, making them a more sustainable and eco-friendly choice.

WAJIN

WAJIN was founded by Mr. Komai - an artist that spent 10 years traveling the world as a backpacker, during which he realized the beauty and art culture not just in the countries he visited, but in his home country Japan too. This inspired him to become an artist and create items that people all over the world could enjoy to celebrate the authenthic beauty of Japan. Mr. Komai has been printing T-shirts for more than 25 years now, making him one of the most knowledgeable and skilled screen printers in Japan.
Each design is handdrawn after careful consideration, and re-evaluated again and again to decide on the perfect balance and depth. The printing is done by hand, one by one and they take care to use just enough ink to not waste any materials. Care is also taken to use the right pressure and intensity to make the designs come to life and not create dull or bland colors.

The T-shirts

The garments of WAJIN T-shirts are produced by KUME Co.,Ltd. - A long-established manufacturer since 1935, and the pioneer of Japanese t-shirt making.
